Oil prices lost some of their strength after briefly breaking above $50.00 U.S. a barrel on Wednesday, after the release of U.S. crude stockpile data.
Inventory data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration showed crude inventories stateside fell by a less-than-expected 900,000 barrels
U.S. crude stockpiles had decreased by 5.2 million barrels last week, the American Petroleum Institute (API) said on Tuesday, a figure three times the projections of industry analysts.
Brent crude's front-month contract was down 10 cents at $50.52 U.S. a barrel.
