Keystone Pipeline Shutdown Due To Oil Leak

TC Energy Corp. (TRP) has shutdown the Keystone Pipeline due to an oil spill in a Nebraska creek.

In a statement, the company said the shutdown happened at 8 p.m. on December 7 after a pressure drop was detected in the pipeline system.

Crews are working to contain the leaked oil that was found 32 kilometres south of Steele City, Nebraska in the U.S.

The company said it is notifying customers and regulators as it responds to the incident. The extent of the damage and amount of oil that has leaked from the pipeline system has not been publicly disclosed by TC Energy Corp.

This year, TC Energy’s stock has declined 3% to $58.05 a share.
