Home sales in Montreal, Quebec declined 8.2% year-over-year in June as the supply of properties on the market rose for an 11th consecutive month.
The Quebec Professional Association of Real Estate Brokers says 4,012 residential properties were sold in Montreal during June, down from 4,371 a year earlier.
Home prices were up year-over-year across all categories for the month, led by a 5.9% increase in the median price of a plex building to $880,000.
The median price of a single-family home in Montreal rose 3.5% year-over-year to $649,000 in June, while the median price of a condominium increased 2% to $435,000.
New listings in June totalled 6,648, up 11% year-over-year, while total inventory rose 17.4% to 20,894 units.
June is typically the beginning of the busy summer sales season for residential properties.
