The sky’s the limit for drone stocks, such as ZenaTech (NASDAQ: ZENA), AIRO Group Holdings (NASDAQ: AIRO), Red Cat Holdings (NASDAQ: RCAT), Ondas Holdings (NASDAQ: ONDS), and Leonardo DRS Inc. (NASDAQ: DRS).
Not only are drones quickly becoming an essential tool for the U.S. government, but also for multi-billion-dollar businesses involved in defense, construction, logistics, agriculture, oil and gas, public security, deliveries, engineering, and telecom.
All of which is helping to strengthen a potential $355.55 billion drone-as-a-service (DaaS) market, according to Research and Markets, by 2032. Making DaaS even more attractive is the strong business demand for enhanced efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Plus, with DaaS there’s no need for upfront costs or operational licensing.
All of which is a solid catalyst for DaaS companies, such as ZenaTech (NASDAQ: ZENA).
In fact, ZenaTech’s Drone as a Service (DaaS) platform is designed to provide business and government clients with on-demand or subscription-based access to faster and superior drone-based services for a host of surveying, inspection, maintenance, power washing, inventory management, and precision agriculture applications, without the capital costs or operational burdens of ownership.
Along the way, by acquiring established, profitable service companies currently using low-tech processes and ripe for drone innovation, ZenaTech is building a global, multi-service DaaS network of locations in communities anchored by existing customers and revenue, for next-gen drone integration designed for speed, precision, data, and safety benefits.
Fueling upside, ZenaTech’s Drone as a Service Just Opened Its 23rd Global Location in Orlando, Fla. to Focus on Government Agencies
ZenaTech’s Drone as a Service opened a new location within its Orlando-area business headquarters facility. This marks the 23rd global DaaS location, creating a strategic hub designed to provide high-value government and defense customers with surveying and mapping services.
“Florida is strategically important state for Drone as a Service and known for its infrastructure, transportation, and defense-related activity,” said Shaun Passley, Ph.D., ZenaTech CEO. “By embedding a Drone as a Service location within our Orlando-area headquarters, we create a nexus to actively pursue federal, state, and county-level government opportunities. Working alongside our Washington, D.C. office and dedicated federal and defense business development teams, we are strengthening our ability to engage decision-makers and scale our public sector presence.”
The Orlando DaaS location will focus on building relationships with federal, state, county, and municipal agencies, including defense installations, energy infrastructure, and transportation projects. Working in tandem with the DaaS headquarters staff and the company’s Washington D.C. business development teams, the company is strengthening and expanding its capabilities to serve government agencies.
In the short term, the company intends utilizing its DaaS Orlando hub to perform survey and mapping work for defense sector customers using traditional survey methods while building drone integration and obtaining certifications including Green and Blue UAS.
Once certifications are obtained, drone-based applications will include military base and airport surveys, runway layout planning, federal land mapping, and critical defense infrastructure projects. The Orlando DaaS location will also support existing services for business customers including builders, golf course, construction companies, and public works projects.

AIRO Group Holdings announced the successful completion of the first RQ‑35 Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) drones produced to full operational standard in its U.S. manufacturing facility in Phoenix, Arizona. This marks the first U.S.-manufactured RQ‑35 systems and a major step forward in the company’s Made‑in‑America expansion strategy. The systems—built to the same specifications as those produced at AIRO’s Denmark facility—completed Phase 1 of the U.S. manufacturing and validation program. This phase encompassed system assembly, including integration of all major components and complete system build-up. The aircraft then underwent a comprehensive flight‑test campaign, concluding with successful final flights on December 11.
Red Cat Holdings, a U.S.-based provider of advanced all-domain drone and robotic solutions for defense and national security, today announced that in December 2025, an Asia-Pacific ally selected its Black Widow™ sUAS on a competitive tender, with delivery of an undisclosed number of systems scheduled for delivery during calendar year 2026. This is the second Asia-Pacific ally to recently order Black Widow systems for military use. Further details on both orders are expected to be made available in the near future. Each system includes two Black Widow aircraft, a ground control station (GCS), and other mission-critical components. “This agreement highlights the trust our international partners place in Red Cat to deliver secure, U.S.-built drone systems purpose-built for today’s battlefield,” said Jeff Thompson, CEO of Red Cat. “We’re honored to support our Asia-Pacific allies with a portable ISR platform engineered for performance in contested environments. As geopolitical dynamics shift, we see accelerating demand for autonomous, interoperable technologies that enhance allied operational readiness. This order underscores Red Cat’s growing role as a strategic partner in the region.”
Ondas Holdings, a leading provider of autonomous aerial and ground robot intelligence through its Ondas Autonomous Systems business unit and private wireless solutions through Ondas Networks, today announced that its smart demining subsidiary, 4M Defense, has been awarded a large-scale multi-year demining program in Israel, after winning with a tender valued at over $30 million. The project will be executed based upon defined project milestones, with an initial execution period of up to three years and options for extensions and scope expansion. The project will be led by 4M Defense, Ondas' smart demining subsidiary, and represents one of the largest demining projects ever undertaken in Israel. The program covers approximately ~741 acres along the Israel-Syria border, a historically contaminated and strategically sensitive region. "This award reflects the increasing demand for advanced, technology-driven approaches to land clearance in complex and high-risk defense environments," said Eric Brock, Chairman and CEO of Ondas Inc. "4M Defense has developed a differentiated smart demining capability that combines autonomy, robotics, and aerial intelligence to dramatically improve safety, speed, and operational efficiency. This project validates both the scale and strategic importance of autonomous demining within Ondas' growing defense portfolio."
Leonardo DRS was awarded a subcontract to provide Infrared Mission Payloads in support of the Space Development Agency’s (SDA) Tracking Layer Tranche 3 (TRKT3), a piece of the U.S. military’s advanced missile defense program. As the space-based mission payload provider, DRS will design, build, integrate, and test advanced infrared mission payloads to support TRKT3’s accelerated capability to provide global detection, warning, and tracking of ballistic missiles and hypersonic weapons. The infrared capability will be used from the earliest stages of an adversarial launch through interception, including delivering precision fire-control sensing data for missile interceptors. This award recognizes our innovative best-in-class technology, and continued investment in advanced space-based capabilities for programs such as the TRKT3 mission,” said John Baylouny, DRS’ Chief Executive Officer. “These investments allow our people to push the boundaries of advanced sensing and space payload manufacturing to support a wide range of national security priorities.”
