On Wednesday, the U.S. government reported a sharp increase in its deficit. It rose to $432.3 billion, double what it was in June, which was $120.3 billion.
The U.S. has a $1.799 trillion deficit. Revenue fell by 33% M/M to $334.0 billion. Spending increased by 24% from June to $766.3 billion. These figures might worsen after the White House requested more military spending. That does not include current expenses related to the war in Iran.
Selling pressure for bond ETFs might increase in the days ahead. Watch out for the 7-10 year Treasury bill (IEF) and 20+ year (TLT) pulling back.
In the auto sector, watch Ford Motor (F). The firm plans to shift some of the production of its Lincoln models from China to the U.S. That would start in 2030. High tariffs deter the auto giant from producing the vehicle in China. Still, if the U.S. government changes in 2028, Ford might keep its activity in China.
In the satellite and AI sector, watch SpaceX (SPCX). Shares closed at $146.15, above the $135 price that investors paid at IPO. Insiders might sell shares, worried that the stock could retest the $104.83 low. Rocket Lab (RKLB) shares stalled, while both Planet Labs (PL) and AST SpaceMobile (ASTS) continued their uptrend.
