New Columbia Resources Opening First Cannabis Treatment Spa Catering to Cancer Patients

If you live in the U.S. and you're looking to get your hands on Colombian medical marijuana in your house, you can't - at least not legally, that is.  New Colombia Resources Inc. (OTCPK:NEWC), in collaboration with its JV partner Sannabis SAS, has come up with a solution for those seeking relaxation and therapeutic benefits from legal Colombian cannabis extract and oils. You just have to travel to outside of Cali, Colombia to La Cumbre, Valle del Cauca to visit the first Sannabis Spa Therapeutic Center to get it.

Monday morning, the company announced they're opening the spa and released pictures from the 20-acre property found on a small artisan coffee plantation with plenty of fruit trees and natural surroundings.   While the spa will cater to a wide array of guest, it has a particular emphasis on cancer patients.  New Columbia Resources, so-named as it also owns metallurgical coal assets, is aiming to capitalize on a burgeoning medical tourism industry in its homeland , as well as the exploding medical cannabis industry in North America underscored by the known medical benefits of cannabis.

The spa includes many amenities, such as gym, swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna, horseback riding and much more.  Health improvement is the top priority, with nurses, dietitians, staff and in-house doctor ensuring patients are tended to 24/7 throughout the process. Sannabis' standard cancer protocol is three months of pure cannabis indica and sativa extracts, cannabis indica essential oil, and a low meat and dairy, high vitamin C diet and IV's.

The therapy involves high doses of Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the psychoactive component of cannabis. As such, the spa is committed to providing the proper and safe environment for those unaccustomed to the effects or with little tolerance for them. While many patients over decades have trumpeted the positive impact of cannabis on a great many maladies, including cancer, most scientists still consider the therapeutic benefit as anecdotal due to the lack of clinical studies. As should be expected, the spa makes no guarantee about meaningful benefit or outcomes.

If the first Sannabis Spa is successful, the JV plans to open another location in Cartagena on Colombia's Caribbean Coast.

Shares of NEWC gapped ahead at Monday's opening bell to $0.0081 from Friday's close at $0.0076 following the news. Within the first 30 minutes into the trading session, shares have gone as high at $0.0087, but have slid back to $0.008 since.
