Fast Food Chain Shake Shack Expands Into Canada

U.S. fast food chain Shake Shack (SHAK) plans to expand into Canada in 2024, beginning with a flagship location in downtown Toronto.

The New York-based restaurant chain ultimately plans to open 35 Shake Shack locations in Canada by 2035.

Since 2004, Shake Shack has opened 440 locations, including 290 in the U.S. and 150 international outlets.

Shake Shack’s menu consists of hamburgers, French fries and fried chicken. The company frequently scores high in consumer polls of best burgers.

Shake Shack went public in 2015. Its stock has risen 33% so far in 2023 to trade at $55.22 U.S. per share.
