Chipmaker Nvidia Unveils New A.I. Products

Microchip and semiconductor company Nvidia (NVDA) has unveiled a host of new products designed to power artificial intelligence (A.I.) applications.

The new products include a robotics system, gaming capabilities, advertising services, and networking technologies.

Perhaps most consequential, Nvidia introduced a new A.I. supercomputer platform called “DGX GH200” that will help technology companies create successors to chatbots such as ChatGPT.

The unveiling of new products at an event in Taiwan highlights Nvidia’s transition from a maker of computer graphics chips to a company at the center of the A.I. gold rush.

To achieve the full potential of A.I., technology companies are turning to accelerated computing and graphics processing units (GPUs) designed by Nvidia.

At the Taiwan presentation, Nvidia showcased a new chip it designed that turbocharges the speed of information within data centers. It also unveiled a robotics platform that powers the robots used in factories and warehouses.

Nvidia’s stock has been a top performer this year, having increased 172% since January to trade at $389.46 U.S. per share. The company’s market capitalization is near $1 trillion U.S.
