Lucid Software launches Slack integration and caps off a record-breaking year

Lucid Software, the Maker of Visualization Tools Lucidchart and Lucidpress, Recently Added a Slack Integration to Its List of 2015 Accomplishments

SOUTH JORDAN, UT / ACCESSWIRE / January 4, 2016 / Lucid Software, the company behind visualization tools Lucidchart and Lucidpress, recently added an integration with Slack to this year's already impressive list of accomplishments. Less than a week after the Slack integration, 1500 teams had already installed the add-on, enabling over 15,000 users to share and create Lucidchart diagrams within Slack.

"It was great to see how quickly the Lucid engineering team put this together," said VP of Marketing Brandon Woolf. "One minute we were in discussions with Slack about possibilities, and less than two weeks later it was built, tested, and released in production."

The Slack integration is just the latest win for Lucid Software, which doubled its annual revenue in 2015 for the fourth year in a row. Earlier in the year, the company updated its Atlassian add-ons to include an on-prem version of Lucidchart for Confluence. The add-on went on to win the popular vote at Atlassian's hackathon.

Lucid Software garnered several awards. Beehive Startups named it the Salt Lake County Startup of the Year, while Utah Business Magazine identified it as one of Utah's "best companies to work for." Individual employees were honored as well. CRO David Grow was named Utah's Marketer of the Year, while Product Manager Victoria Thomas was dubbed a Rising Star by the Women Tech Council.

This success is reflected in the company's growing user base. "We're now serving more than six million registered users," says Woolf. Of that total, over a million use the layout and design tool Lucidpress, which launched only a year and a half ago.

Product Manager Edgar Cheney attributes this growth to two main factors. "We've put significant focus on the core experience, and we've expanded our feature set to provide solutions for companies of all sizes," he said.

New features include presentation mode and a revamped iOS app for Lucidchart, along with Adobe InDesign import for Lucidpress. Both products benefited from enhanced commenting features and faster performance.

Other innovations have made Lucidchart more accessible for large organizations. Launched in August, the company's Enterprise-level package now serves companies with up to 80,000 employees, with features including domain lockdown, unlimited integrations, and simplified account provisioning.

Where will Lucid Software go from here? As far as CEO Karl Sun is concerned, the company is just getting started. "We think there's a real need for people to organize and share their ideas visually, and we're excited to help make that happen," he says.
