We would like to thank Mr. Robert Madzej for his hard work and dedication as our interim COO. Mr. Madzej will remain on the board of directors.
Mr. Kent Edney is a Professional Petroleum Engineer with vast experience over his 14-year career, which includes being actively involved with three successful junior oil companies that grew fourfold during his tenure. He is experienced with corporate operations and governance as well as every major technical discipline involved in oil and gas development. Application of horizontal drilling, multi-stage fracturing, reserve evaluation, property evaluation and acquisition, capital budgeting and production forecasting are some of the many strengths Mr. Edney has developed during an active career in the oil and gas sector.
Mr. Edney's career started in 2001 with Epic Consulting Services (now part of Baker Hughes) as a Reservoir Engineer. He then transitioned to Thunder Energy as a Production Engineer responsible for all aspects of production operations, which grew the company to over 8,000 boe/d. With his role as Area Engineer for Breaker Energy, he was the engineer responsible for all production, drilling, completions, exploitation and reservoir evaluations. His leadership and drive helped grow Breaker Energy to 7,000 boe/d, while he managed a team responsible for 4,500 boe/d and capital budgets in excess of $50 million annually in Southern Alberta. His success and drive continued with Surge Energy as an Area Engineer, responsible for the eastern Alberta and Manitoba assets. Mr. Edney joined Nextraction Energy in early 2011 and quickly progressed from Operations Manager to President in December 2011.
