There are some things that should be purchased at certain times of the year. Here are three things that should be bought now, rather than later.
Laptops
August is a terrific time to buy a new laptop.
Stores know students are shopping for school supplies for the upcoming year, and what’s more important in 2016 than having a dependable laptop?
Retailers desperate to gain traffic will often have great deals on laptops this time of year, using them as loss leaders that hopefully encourage someone to show up and buy more stuff while there. These stores have the same sales online, making the process even easier.
Cars
The reasoning is simple. New models start coming out in the summer or fall, creating good deals on the previous year’s model.
Car dealers are desperate to get this stale inventory off the lot, so they do the same thing retailers have done for the last century--discount. If you spend your time on models that were particularly unpopular, the discounts should be especially nice.
Patio furniture
It’s sort of the same concept with car dealers and their old inventory. Come August, retailers start to get very nervous about having patio furniture out on the sales floor.
Most people have already bought patio furniture by now if they’re going to buy for this season. After all, they want to sit on it and enjoy it for a whole summer, rather than only getting to use it for a short time and then having to pack it away.
And that space will soon be taken up by things like Halloween costumes as retailers move onto the next seasonal thing. It needs to be empty, in other words.
