Comex Gold Dips On Stronger U.S Dollar

Gold futures declined Thursday on a stronger U.S dollar and weakness in other metals and in equities.

December gold fell $8.60 to settle at $1,000.70 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange.

Shortly after gold closed, the ICE Futures U.S. dollar index was up 0.484 point, or more than 0.6%, at 77.137. Gold often trades inversely to the greenback because it is considered a dollar hedge.
