Gold has rocketed to another record high this morning, extending its rally, as the U.S dollar's drop sparked demand from investors for wealth protection. Silver advanced to a 30-month peak and platinum to its highest level since May.
Gold advanced 0.4% to an all-time high of $1282.97 U.S an ounce.
''Uncertainties over the global economic recovery as well as the financial market persist,'' said Hwang Il Doo, a senior trader at Korea Exchange Bank Futures Co in Seoul.
''Gold is where money should be at this juncture. Now that bullion breached the record again, it will probably continue rising,'' he said.
Bullion typically moves inversely to the US currency.
