Ivey PMI Lower in October

Western University's Ivey Purchasing Managers' Index fell to 53.1 seasonally adjusted in October, from 53.7 the previous month and below the 54.0 expected, the school revealed Thursday morning.

The monthly surveys taps purchasing managers of companies as to their purchases. Any reading over 50 signals a boost in purchases, below 50, a contraction.
