Ivey PMI Founders in December

An index of how active company purchasing managers were to end 2015 may something to say about how Canada's economy was doing.

Western University in London, Ontario reported that its Ivey Purchasing Managers Index registered at a seasonally-adjusted reading of 49.9., just low enough to indicate a decrease in the number of purchases being made.

The Ivey School of Business said its corresponding figure for November was 63.6, and 55.4 for December 2014,

The index asks purchasing managers if their companies' purchases last month in dollars was higher, the same, or lower than the previous month.

A figure above 50 shows an increase while below 50 shows a decrease.
