Things are still on the up-and-up with this country's economy, according to new figures released Tuesday morning by Statistics Canada.
The agency says gross domestic product expanded by 0.2%in August, a slight cooling off from the much hotter expansion in the previous two summer months.
Statistics Canada reported Tuesday the mining, quarrying, oil and gas extraction, utilities, manufacturing and construction sectors all expanded.
Tuesday's figures also showed oil and gas extraction expanded by 0.9% Mining excluding oil and gas grew by 2%, largely due to a big 14% surge in potash export volumes.
The service sector, which includes trade, transportation, accommodation and food services, was essentially flat, whereas the finance and insurance sectors shrank, as did retail trade.
