Futures tied to the S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average gained early Wednesday, looking to build on a huge rally from the prior session. Traders also pored through the latest corporate earnings reports from companies such as SpaceX and AMD.
Futures for the 30-stock index raced 215 points, or 0.4%, to 54,483.
Futures for the much-broader index chugged 31.25 points, or 0.4%, to 7,796.75.
Futures for the NASDAQ Composite took on 45.25 points, or 0.2%, to 29,908.75.
SpaceX shares plunged 11% after the rocket company released its first quarterly report since going public in June. Elon Musk’s space firm said its capital expenditures jumped sixfold to $18.4 billion in the second quarter.
This figure was ahead of analyst expectations, with the majority of the spending going towards AI.
Chip giant AMD also dropped 7% in premarket after posting adjusted earnings that only came slightly ahead of the Street’s estimates.
However, Dow member Disney rose more than 3% on better-than-expected earnings for its fiscal third quarter.
In Japan, the Nikkei 225 vaulted 3.7% Wednesday, while in Hong Kong, the Hang Seng inched higher 0.2%.
Oil prices gathered 36 cents to $76.13 U.S. a barrel.
Gold prices jumped $75.50 to $4,228.10 U.S an ounce.
