U.S. stocks rose on Monday as oil prices and Treasury yields slipped, with Wall Street looking to recover from a mostly lower week.
The Dow Jones Industrials stumbled 96.11 points to 51,681.93
The S&P 500 Index changed directions and headed higher 12.47 points to 7,650.24.
The NASDAQ Composite regained 104.25 points to 26,522.55.
AI-related stocks were higher Monday. Shares of Intel and Advanced Micro Devices added 8% each, while others such as Qualcomm increased 3%.
Prices for the 10-year Treasury bounced, lowering yields to 4.96% from Friday’s 5.01%. Treasury prices and yields move in opposite directions.
Oil prices retreated $4.65 to $95.65 U.S. a barrel.
Gold prices recovered $49.70 to $4,375.20 U.S. an ounce.
