MicroStrategy Buys $190 Million Of Bitcoin

Software company MicroStrategy (MSTR) has bought another 4,167 Bitcoin (BTC) for a total cost of $190.5 million U.S.

The purchases took place between February 15 and April 4, MicroStrategy said in a written statement.

MicroStrategy paid an average price of $45,714 U.S. per Bitcoin in recent months. The purchases were made through a company subsidiary.

MicroStrategy now holds a total of 129,218 Bitcoins, valued at about $6 billion U.S. at the current price of about $46,500 U.S.

MicroStrategy chief executive Michael Saylor has said that the company plans to hold the Bitcoin long term and has no plans to sell it.

The Bitcoin acquired across the recent 49-day period averages 85 a day, up from the 20 Bitcoin the company acquired each day between December 30, 2021 and January 31, 2022.
