Crypto Wallet SafePal Launches Visa Card And Banking Services

Cryptocurrency hardware wallet provider SafePal is moving into mainstream banking with the launch of a new crypto-focused Visa card.

Additionally, SafePal is launching in-app banking services with the dollar-pegged stable coin USD Coin (USDC) as the default deposit currency.

Users of SafePal can now pay for items and expenses with digital assets and transfer funds between compliant banks.

“Inaccessibility is a pressing issue plaguing crypto users that needs to be solved…” said Veronica Wong, chief executive of SafePal, in an interview published on news site CoinDesk.

The new crypto Visa cards offered by SafePal are linked to third-party payment platforms such as Paypal, Google Pay and Apple Pay, said the company.

The Visa card is initially available only in Europe while the in-app banking service is available outside of the U.S.

SafePal also issues the SFP cryptocurrency.
