PFB Corporation Gains on Q1 Results, Hikes Dividend

PFB Corporation (TSX: PFB) is a Calgary, Canada-based company engaged in manufacturing insulating building products made from expanded polystyrene (EPS) materials and marketing these products in North America. The company operates through two segments: Canada and the U.S.

PFB shares have edged higher today after the company announced its financial results for the first quarter of its fiscal 2016 and also increased its quarterly dividend. At last check, PFB shares were trading 1.79% higher at $9.09.

PFB announced that its Board of Directors approved an increase to the quarterly dividend per common share. The company will now pay a quarterly dividend of $0.07 per share. The dividend will be payable on May 31, 2016 to shareholders of record on May 17, 2016.

For the first quarter of 2016, PFB reported a consolidated loss of $155,000, or $0.02 per share, compared to a consolidated loss of $80,000, or $0.01 per share reported for the same period in the previous year. PFB’s EBITDA for the first quarter came in at $955,000, compared to EBITDA of $1.05 million reported for the same period in the previous year. The company’s consolidated sales for the quarter were $19.16 million, compared to $17.53 million reported for the same period in the previous year.
