Six Stocks To Watch On Monday

Traders will watch media firm Paramount Skydance (PSKY). Rumors continued to circulate that the firm will buy Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) for $22 to $24 a share.

Paramount is smaller than WBD by market capitalization. This suggests that a leveraged buyout deal is unlikely, as WBD seeks a higher valuation.

Eversource Energy (ES) gained nearly 5% last Friday on no news. In Q2, the firm reaffirmed its $4.67 - $4.82 a share EPS guidance for this year. The Aquarion divestiture completion and storm cost securitization may harm its financial flexibility. Wait for an update next February.

AppLovin (APP) jumped by 4.5% last Friday. The short float is 4.3%. On Sept. 10, Bloomberg reported that the bearish short position against APP stock is at its highest level since March. The software firm offers an attractive in-app video ad platform in mobile games.

Dexcom (DXCM) lost 10.99% on September 19. Hunterbrook Capital disclosed a short position on the firm. The short report might send DXCM stock lower again today.

On a downtrend since February, Cognizant (CTSH) is a stock to watch today. CTSH stock lost 4.73% last Friday, despite reporting nothing new. In July, the firm raised its revenue and EPS outlook. It cited AI-led large deals acceleration for the higher guidance.

Humana (HUM) is on a steep downtrend. After a rally from $225 to above $300, shares closed at $252.66. The lift from UnitedHealth’s (UNH) stock rally is now over.
