Netflix And Spotify Partner On Video Podcasts

Spotify (SPOT) is bringing video podcasts to streaming giant Netflix (NFLX).

A new partnership between the companies will see a selection of podcasts from The Ringer, a network owned by Spotify, placed on Netflix in early 2026.

The video podcasts will focus on subjects ranging from sports and culture to true crime. The video podcasts will initially be available to U.S. Netflix subscribers only.

Netflix said the video podcasts supplied by Spotify will diversify its content offerings and draw in new subscribers.

Podcasts expected to be on Netflix in the new year include “The Bill Simmons Podcast,” “The Rewatchables,” and “Serial Killers.”

For its part, Spotify said the partnership with Netflix is its next step in evolving the company into a multimedia experience.

The deal between Spotify and Netflix comes as video podcasts have soared in popularity on Alphabet’s (GOOGL) YouTube platform.

This has led traditional media and streaming companies to adopt the podcast format.

Amazon’s (AMZN) Prime Video is also adding video podcasts, having recently signed multimillion dollar deals with several content creators.

SPOT stock is up 49% this year and trading at $683.51 U.S. per share.

NFLX stock has gained 37% year-to-date to trade at $1,215.35 U.S. a share.
