EnerSys(NYSE: ENS), a global leader in stored energy solutions for industrial, infrastructure, and defense applications, today announced the new generation of high-efficiency Cordex® CXPS DC power system configurations, built around the new Cordex® HP 48V-5.0kW rectifier for cable broadband and communications network applications.
Delivering up to 97.1% peak efficiency, 5.0kW maximum output and 15kW/RU power density, the new rectifier is intended for integration with the Cordex® CXPS-HX, CXPS-C and CXPS-W power systems. The planned integrations bring higher conversion efficiency and power density into DC power system configurations for headends, hubs and central offices, where energy use, power capacity and available space are increasingly linked.
The rectifier is certified to CSA/UL 62368-1 (Edition 3) for Canada and the United States, and IEC/EN 62368-1 (Edition 3) for Europe, Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Africa.
As broadband networks expand capacity, the physical infrastructure supporting them does not necessarily expand at the same rate. Operators increasingly need to accommodate higher DC loads within existing rack and floor-space constraints while also managing the recurring energy cost of continuously powered network facilities.
At the module level, the Cordex® HP 48V-5.0kW rectifier addresses both constraints: less energy lost in conversion and more power delivered per rack unit.
ENS shares sank 91 cents, or 0.5%, to $177.98.
