Last March, Lions Gate Metals retained two Canadian broker-dealers as financial advisors, tasking them with evaluating potential strategic transactions for the company. They did, sending the company in a totally new direction from a mining company into the emerging blockchain space as an investment issuer.
Late yesterday afternoon, the Canadian Securities Exchange signed off the the fundamental change of Lions Gate to Block X Capital Corp. and a ticker change to (CSE:BXXX), removing the trading halt at the same time for shares to commence trading as the new company starting Wednesday morning.
A newly appointed management team will seek investment opportunities in early-stage to mid-level blockchain and emerging technology companies, and will leverage its network of operators and global thought leaders to provide investors with unparalleled access to investments that are not normally accessible to the average retail trader.
This is a relatively common mantra of upstart blockchain investment companies because of their ability to access firms and ICOs much early than "normal" retail traders are given the opportunity.
Shares of then-Lions Gate Metals closed on their last trading day before the halt on November 24, 2017 at 35 cents.
