Bank of America/Merrill Lynch Cuts Estimates for Big Three Investment Bankers (GS, JPM, MS)

Analysts at Bank of America/Merrill Lynch on Tuesday cut their earnings estimates for Goldman Sachs (GS), JPMorgan Chase (JPM), and Morgan Stanley (MS).

The analyst cited a seasonal slowdown in trading activity for the following estimates being lowered:

•Goldman Sachs Q4 EPS estimates cut from $6.57 to $5.74 U.S., FY09 cut from $20.42 to $19.54 U.S.

•Morgan Stanley Q4 EPS estimates cut from $0.47 to $0.40 U.S., FY09 lowered from a loss of $0.58 to a loss of $0.66 U.S.

•JPMorgan Chase Q4 EPS estimates cut from $0.71 to $0.68 U.S., FY09 cut from $2.24 to $2.20 U.S.
