With all the fuss over security in the world, particularly electronic security, the more aggressive firms will seek out and acquire the more lucrative and prestigious clients.
Israel-based SuperCom (NASDAQ:SPCB) announced Tuesday it had won a new project with the national government of an unnamed European country to deploy its PureSecurity Electronic Monitoring (EM) Suite with an emphasis on house arrest.
The nationwide program with that country’s Ministry of Justice is set to cover all cases requiring house arrest within the country, with a simultaneous enrollee count starting at over 200.
The project was won through a formal bid process, which included system demonstrations to and tests conducted by the contracting authority. The bidding process also included the incumbent and long-term EM vendor for this country for the past 10 years.
Said CEO Arie Trabelsi, "This award is another signal that more and more EM countries, both in Europe and throughout the developed world are turning to SuperCom's technology to support their public safety efforts. This also reflects a greater overall shift to a more modernized, effective approach towards alternatives to incarceration and an emphasis on offenders' successful re-entry into society."
SPCB shares acquired two cents, or 1.5%, on superlative volume of 270,000 shares.
