American Manganese Trumpets Pilot Plans Results

News from the lithium-ion industry proved too loud to ignore throughout North America on Wednesday.

Surrey, B.C.-based American Manganese Inc. (TSX-Venture:AMY) told the industry report that improved RecycLiCoTM Pilot Plant results were achieved with a 99.93% purity (previously 99.88%) from the second production of recycled NMC cathode material. The Company will continue testing the existing stockpile of NMC and NCA cathode scrap to further optimize cathode material purity.

The purity results achieved by the Pilot Plant has been called by company officials “a great demonstration of high-quality cathode materials expected in the lithium-ion battery manufacturing industry”.

According to CEO Larry Reaugh, "All of us on the American Manganese team are extremely pleased with the recent purity results as it demonstrates our ability to continually improve our recycling potential and provide an environmentally friendly solution to the lithium-ion battery recycling industry."

Shares in AMY galloped 6.5 cents by noon ET Wednesday, or 27.7%, to 30 cents, on volume topping two million shares.
