Miners grabbed the spotlight Tuesday, certainly in Canada, with news that Edmonton-based Benchmark Metals Inc. (TSX-Venture:BNCH) reported successful drilling progress from the initial six drill holes at the Lawyers Trend in northern British Columbia.
BNCH put out a news release Tuesday revealing that drilling has intersected multi-metre mineralized intercepts in the initial phase of the 2019 program.
Five of the holes have returned two to three discrete mineralized intercepts within the same hole ranging up to 46 metres in length, drilling totaling 1,391.73 metres to date.
CEO John Williamson commented, "The Benchmark geological team has hit targets on 100% of the drill holes. This includes intervals of intense alteration, multiphase veining with mineralization intersected in all drill holes."
Shares climbed 2.5 cents, or 7.5%, to $36 cents, on volume surpassing 222,000 shares.
