Barrian Buys Troy, Shares Soar

Another junior miner is going the acquisition route toward prosperity.

Vancouver-based Barrian Mining Corp. (TSX-Venture:BARI) announced Tuesday it had signed an option agreement to acquire 100% of the Troy Canyon gold silver project in Nye County, Nevada from privately-owned Brocade Metals.

The Troy Canyon Project has returned historical underground stope rock grab samples assaying 576 g/t gold and 229 g/t silver. The Troy Canyon Project is located just 70 kilometres east of Barrian's flagship 'Bolo Project'.

Troy Canyon consists of 19 contiguous mineral claims that cover 158.86 hectares of land centered approximately on the historical Locke gold mine. High-grade gold mineralization occurs within massive quartz veins, vein breccias and narrower sheeted vein and stockwork zones.

Shares in BARI galloped 1.5 cents, or 8.3%, to 19.5 cents by noon ET on Tuesday, with 733,000 shares changing hands.
