Pfizer Inc (NYSE:PFE) received the green light on its Covid-19 vaccine from an external panel of experts that advise the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar says the FDA will grant emergency use authorization for the Pfizer /BioNTech (NASDAQ:BNTX) vaccine in the next couple of days. He expects Americans could begin getting the vaccine on Monday. Azar's comments come after yesterday's 17-4 adcom vote to recommend EUA.
Other Pfizer news; the company’s board of directors declared a 39-cent first-quarter 2021 dividend on the company’s common stock, payable March 5, 2021, to holders of the Common Stock of record at the close of business on January 29, 2021.
Pfizer increased the dividend over the fourth-quarter by approximately 3% to 39 cents from 38 cents per share. The first-quarter 2021 cash dividend will be the 329th consecutive quarterly dividend paid by Pfizer.

The United States is averaging about 2,230 new death reports per day, according to data from Johns Hopkins University.
PFE shares slid 73 cents, or 1.8%, to $41.00
