Which Covid-19 Drug Stocks Will Spike Higher?

Last week, Pfizer (NYSE:PFE) traded at all-time highs. The drug manufacturing giant is a must-own stock whose COVID-19 treatments will increase its revenue.

Pfizer has a partnership with BioNTech (NASDAQ:BNTX). Together, their COVID-19 vaccine is a top 3 product globally. Pfizer went a step further. It developed a COVID-19 anti-viral oral drug. Now, health care systems have another way to treat COVID-19 patients.

Merck (NYSE:MRK) also announced an oral drug that sent the stock higher. MRK stock erased those gains after Pfizer’s announcement. In addition, Merck’s pill has more side effects. Chances are good that Pfizer will take market share when the FDA approves its anti-viral.

BioNTech has a good chance of spiking back to old highs. COVID-19 is spreading again in Europe, especially in Austria, Germany. The vaccination rate is too low, giving the virus a chance to continue the pandemic.

Moderna (NASDAQ:MRNA) and BioNTech should expect growing vaccine sales as the second booster shot loses its effectiveness. The third booster shot will improve immunity for those who did not get the second shot in over six months.

The risk of a COVID-19 delta plus variant emerging as the next strain will threaten the re-opening, travel, and going back to work. Investors should consider MRNA, BNTX, and PFE stock in their portfolios.
