Aritzia’s Revenue Grows 50% On Strong Retail And E-Commerce Sales

Canadian retailer Aritzia’s (ATZ) net income rose 16% in its fiscal second quarter as the
company’s retail and e-commerce sales each grew strongly.

The Vancouver-based clothing retailer said it earned $46.3 million or 40 cents per share in fiscal
Q2, up from $39.8 million or 35 cents a share a year earlier.

Revenues in the quarter rose 50.1% to $525.5 million from $350.1 million in the same period of
2021, with same-store sales rising 28.3%.

Retail revenues rose almost 70% in the quarter to $351.6 million while e-commerce sales
increased 33.1% to $173.9 million from a year ago.

Aritzia’s e-commerce sales have now surpassed their pre-pandemic levels even as in-store
shopping has resumed.

Looking ahead, Aritzia said its strong performance has continued through the current quarter.

The company currently has 112 stores: 68 in Canada and 44 in the U.S. The company says it
plans to open 10 more retail outlets within the next year, mostly in the U.S.

Aritzia’s stock is down 8% on the year and trading at $48.62 per share.
