Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella’s Pay Rises To $96.5 Million

Microsoft (MSFT) CEO Satya Nadella has gotten a big pay raise.

His total annual pay has risen 22% to $96.5 million U.S. this year. That’s up from total compensation of $79.1 million U.S. in 2024.

Nadella’s pay is comprised of more than $85 million U.S. in stock awards and nearly $10 million U.S. in cash incentives.

The overall pay for the chief executive officer (CEO) is tied to Microsoft’s stock performance. So far in 2025, Microsoft’s share price has gained 23%, beating the S&P 500's 15% increase.

In 2024, Nadella’s pay rose 63%, with 90% of his compensation coming from stock awards.

Nadella was eligible for $10.66 million U.S. in cash incentives last year but asked the board of directors to reduce that number to $5.2 million U.S. after cyberattacks at the company.

Nadella’s latest pay raise comes after Microsoft announced in July that it is eliminating more than 15,000 employees as it looks to plow more money into developing artificial intelligence.

Microsoft is scheduled to report its latest financial results on Oct. 29. MSFT stock is currently trading at $517.66 U.S. per share, having doubled in the last three years.
