Amazon To Hold Prime Day Sales Event July 11-12

E-commerce giant Amazon (AMZN) has announced that it will hold its annual Prime Day sales event on July 11 and 12 this year.

Prime Day is when Amazon offers a lot of discounts to consumers in order to boost its sales. The company said this year’s event will start on July 11 at 3 a.m. Eastern time and run through July 12.

Prime Day has become a global event for Amazon and includes not only the U.S. and Canada but most countries in Europe, as well as Singapore and Australia.

This year, Amazon is introducing invite-only deals where customers can request an invitation for deals that are expected to sellout fast.

U.S.-based Prime members will be able to get some deals as soon as today (June 21). Amazon said it will also offer deals on devices such as the Amazon Echo and Eero mesh Wi-Fi systems.

Additionally, Amazon Prime Video will have discounts on some movie rentals and channel subscriptions.

In 2022, Amazon held two Prime Day sales events, with the first one taking place on July 12-13 and the second one on October 11-12.

The company didn't say if it plans to hold a second Prime Day event this year.

Amazon’s stock has gained 16% in the last 12 months to trade at $125.78 U.S. per share.
