OpenAI Launches ChatGPT For Businesses

OpenAI has launched a new version of its popular artificial intelligence (A.I.) assistant ChatGPT that is focused on businesses.

The new corporate version of ChatGPT contains added features and privacy safeguards and is aimed at attracting business customers as privately held OpenAI attempts to boost its revenues.

As with consumer versions of the popular chatbot, users can type in a prompt and quickly receive a written response from the new product, which is called “ChatGPT Enterprise.”

Businesses receive unlimited use of OpenAI’s most powerful generative A.I. model, GPT-4, as well as data encryption and a guarantee that the company will not use customer data to develop current or future A.I. technologies.

Business customers can use ChatGPT Enterprise for tasks such as coding, helping with creative work, and answering business questions.

The business version of ChatGPT also enables users to type in much longer prompts and queries, said OpenAI.

The launch of ChatGPT Enterprise is the latest attempt by OpenAI to make money from its popular chatbot.

The San Francisco-based start-up already sells a premium subscription version of ChatGPT and paid access to its application programming interface that is used by developers.

OpenAI has not said publicly how much ChatGPT Enterprise will cost businesses.

ChatGPT has been used by more than 80% of Fortune 500 companies since it was introduced in November 2022, according to OpenAI.

OpenAI is privately held, and its stock does not trade on a public exchange.

However, the company has a close relationship with Microsoft (MSFT), which has invested more than $10 billion U.S. in OpenAI and integrated ChatGPT into its Bing search engine.

Microsoft’s stock is up 22% over the last 12 months and trading at $323.70 U.S. per share.
