Featured Earnings

BlackBerry Inc. (TSX: BB) Q3. EPS forecasts loss of $0.39. Perhaps it should be called “Black-and-Blue Berry”, for the beleaguered smartphone maker has been punished this year, with shares down nearly 50%. Still, some traders are crossing their fingers for good news amid all the gloom with which they’ve been greeted this year.

Lumina Copper Corp. (TSX: LCC) EPS forecast loss of $0.01. On the resource-heavy TSX, this stock has been touted as one of the up-and-comers, having announced a major share offering in April. The price remains, though, in the lower region of a 52-week range of $3.86 to $10.65. Something fairly significant will need to happen to lift it out of this rut.

Featured Earnings

Carnival Corp. (NYSE: CCL) November. EPS forecasts breakeven. Oh, what a bruising pair of years it’s been for the beleaguered cruise line, in the aftermath of the sinking of the Costa Concordia in January of last year. Early this year, its Carnival Triumph liner lost power in the Gulf of Mexico and had to be towed. The stock has traded in a narrow range of $31.44 to $39.95, and could desperate use, well, a lifeline.

Walgreen Co. (NYSE: WAG) November. EPS estimate of $0.73. It’s been a fairly cheerful year “at the corner of Happy and Healthy”, with November sales climbing 4.1%, October’s by 6.1%, and a new partnership announced with Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, opening a new store catering to the campus community.
