Building Permits (April) The total value of building permits rose 11.6% from a month earlier to $6.9 billion in March, the first increase in three months.
Housing Starts (May) Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corp. said the seasonally adjusted annualized rate of housing starts fell to 181,814 in April from a downwardly revised 189,546 units in March. Forecasters had expected 182,000 starts.
