With countries all over the world pledging to reduce emissions, “Hydrogen would be necessary for the world's largest emitters – the US, China, and Europe – to achieve net-zero climate targets by 2050 - 2060 by decarbonizing hard to abate industries,” says Energy Global. Plug Power Inc., a leading provider of turnkey hydrogen solutions for the global green hydrogen economy, has announced that David Mindnich, a 15-year leader in manufacturing who spearheaded operations for Tesla’s Gigafactory, will join the company as executive vice president of global manufacturing. In this role, Mindnich, who will report directly to CEO Andy Marsh, will lead the modernization of Plug Power’s manufacturing operations by creating process efficiencies and transforming its operations. He will be responsible for optimizing the performance of Plug Power’s global manufacturing facilities by tapping his experience with high-volume global manufacturing, process improvement and automation. Ballard Power announced that it has received a purchase order for one of its 200-kilowatt (kW) FCwaveTM fuel cell modules from Fusion-Fuel, an innovative green hydrogen solutions company headquartered in Portugal to be integrated into Fusion-Fuel’s H2Evora project in the Évora region of Portugal. The H2Evora project will use Fusion-Fuel’s new HEVO electrolyzer design to produce green hydrogen that will power the FCwaveTM module for generation of zero-emission electricity. Ballard plans to deliver the FCwaveTM module to Fusion-Fuel this year.

Bloom Energyannounced it will convert its entire global natural gas fleet to certified low-leak natural gas to prevent the release of harmful methane emissions stemming from upstream gas production. In addition, Bloom Energy and MiQ, a non-profit partnership between RMI and SYSTEMIQ, will collaborate to test and refine elements of the certified gas marketplace and educate Bloom Energy customers and other industry stakeholders on the importance of reducing the environmental impacts of natural gas production.

FuelCell Energy, a global leader in fuel cell technology with a purpose of utilizing its proprietary, state-of-the-art fuel cell platforms to enable a world empowered by clean energy — applauds Governor Ned Lamont on the signing of Connecticut House Bill 6524, An Act Concerning the Solicitation of New Fuel Cell Electricity Generation Projects. The bill requires the Connecticut utilities to solicit proposals to acquire new fuel cell electricity generation projects that begin on or after July 1, 2021. Projects submitted under this mandate will be approved by January 1, 2022.
