Wendy’s (WEN), after holding the $7.00 - $8.00 range, broke out last week to close at $8.64. On August 12, the stock had a breakout on a report from the Financial Times that Nelson Peltz would take over the food chain.
Investors might consider speculating on the buyout. They may also consider Wendy’s peers like Restaurant Brands (QSR), Portillo’s (PTLO), and Starbucks (SBUX). Their shares are up in 2026. Conversely, McDonald’s (MCD) lost 10.7% YTD, while Shake Shack (SHAK) is down by 7.8%.
In the PC and server market, watch Lenovo (LNVGY). Shares broke out of a sub-$75 trading range to close at $85.20 last week, up by 15.5%. BofA analysts raised their price target to $117.69, up from $67.20. The report noted the successful server delivery. The business expanded across all fronts with operating leverage.
AI is driving the Infrastructure segment’s growth.
Unity Software (U) is approaching a 52-week high. Since posting A2 results on August 6, shares have kept climbing. Unity recorded revenue of $546.4 million (+23.9%). Non-GAAP EPS was $0.28. Although revenue is growing, profitability remains weak. In addition, stock-based compensation is still high.
