Tungsten prices could rally to higher highs. For one, China just produced about 67,000 of the 85,000 tonnes of tungsten mined globally in 2025 and controls about 85% of Ammonium Paratungstate (APT) refining capacity, as noted by The Oregon Group. The group also noted that tungsten mines outside of China are still too small to meet demand. By 2030, “accessible tungsten mines outside China are projected to meet only about 68% of projected ex-China primary demand,” they added. All of which creates substantial opportunity for companies such as Blue Moon Metals (TSXV: MOON) (NASDAQ: BMM), Almonty Industries (NASDAQ: ALM) (TSX: AII), American Tungsten (TSXV: TUNG) (OTCQX: TUNGF), Western Star Resources (CSE: WSR) (OTC: WSRIF), and Adamera Minerals Corp. (TSXV: ADZ) (OTC: DDNFF).
The supply situation is particularly important for the United States. “According to the US Geological Survey, the United States currently has virtually no domestic mine production,” National Security News reported. “The combination of restricted Chinese supplies and increased military demand has forced American tungsten refiners to rely on scrap, recycled material and limited supplies of imported ore concentrates.”
At the same time, demand shows little sign of slowing. According to S&P Global, global tungsten demand is expected to reach roughly 180,000 tonnes by 2030, and to about 202,000 tonnes by 2035. That demand is being supported by tungsten’s critical role in cutting tools, drill bits, national security, and a wide range of industrial and military applications.
Put it all together, and the tungsten market faces a potentially powerful combination: heavy dependence on Chinese supply, limited production capacity outside China, growing strategic demand, and an increasingly urgent need for secure domestic sources. If those supply constraints persist while demand continues to climb, tungsten prices push even higher.

Companies that could help, include Blue Moon Metals (TSXV: MOON) (NASDAQ: BMM)

Blue Moon Metals announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire a land package and its associated water rights, located near the Company’s Springer mine in Pershing County, Nevada, USA, from a private third-party vendor for consideration of US$3.5 million in cash and US$4.5 million in common shares of Blue Moon.

Christian Kargl-Simard, CEO of Blue Moon states, “This acquisition more than doubles Springer’s existing water rights and ensures that Springer retains its flexibility to grow into the future as a hub-and-spoke processing complex. The land package can also act as a strategic logistics hub, with access to highway I-80 and adjoining the Union Pacific rail line.”
The Property
The Property consists of over 2,100 acres of land in Pershing County, Nevada, bounded by I-80 on one side and the Union Pacific railroad on the other side. The associated water permits hold over 1,500 afa of water rights in the Imlay basin, with total annual permitted consumptive use of over 1,300 afa and a maximum pumping rate of over 4,300 gpm. The Property also has a 60 KVA power line that is located on site.
Access to the Property from Springer is via Tungsten road and highway I-80, totaling approximately 14 miles. Given the proximity of the property, favourable terrain and access to both the highway and rail line, the Property has the ability to be developed into a future logistics hub for Springer.
Transaction Terms

Blue Moon is acquiring the Property free and clear of all material encumbrances for the following consideration:
- US$3.5 million in cash upon signing the definitive agreement, of which US$0.1 million is a non-refundable deposit; and
- the issuance by Blue Moon to the Seller of US$4.5 million common shares of Blue Moon upon closing, based on the 10-day VWAP of the shares prior to issuance.
- The Seller shall be responsible for filing the documentation with NDWR for the transfer of the water rights to Blue Moon for use at Springer, the cost of which filing will be paid by Blue Moon.
Key conditions precedent to completion of the Acquisition are TSXV approval and the completion of the water rights transfer to Blue Moon. A purchase and sale agreement has been executed by the parties on September 2, 2026, and completion is expected to happen in early 2027. No finders’ fees are being paid on this Acquisition.
Other related developments from around the markets include:
Almonty Industries, a leading global producer of tungsten concentrate, announced the commencement of processing plant throughput operations at its Sangdong Mine in Gangwon Province, South Korea. During June 2026, the Company began feeding stockpiled run-of-mine ore through its newly commissioned processing plant to produce saleable tungsten concentrate – a pivotal milestone marking Sangdong’s transition from mine development into active, revenue-generating operations. Almonty exited the first quarter of 2026 with approximately 120,000 tonnes of ore stockpiled at an average grade of 0.24% tungsten trioxide (“WO₃”). During the second quarter of 2026, the Company mined an additional approximately 19,700 tonnes of development ore at an average grade of 0.35% WO₃, while advancing 214.6 meters of underground development, primarily along the Main Vein. Together, this brings total stockpiled ore to approximately 139,700 tonnes at a blended grade of approximately 0.25% WO₃ ahead of the plant’s commissioning. We are utilizing lower-grade throughput during the initial ramp-up phase and anticipate higher grades as the process advances, with Sangdong’s low-grade ore approximately three times higher than that of our Panasqueira mine in Portugal. With throughput now underway, stockpiled ore is being introduced during the initial commissioning phase to optimize ore blending and maintain the consistent feed quality the plant requires as the operation ramps up. The Sangdong Mine processing plant is designed to upgrade run-of-mine ore into a high-purity tungsten concentrate.
American Tungsten announced several milestones toward advancing the Ima Mine, the Company’s past-producing tungsten mine located in Idaho, USA, where the Company continues to advance exploration activities aimed at expanding and further defining the scale of the historic tungsten system. “Our objective remains clear: systematically advance the project through exploration, resource development, engineering studies and permitting activities. The geological and technical work completed to date continues to demonstrate the strength of the mineralized system and supports our belief that there remains meaningful opportunity to expand the project’s long-term potential. In addition to the progress being made through drilling and resource development, our ongoing technical and due-diligence work has further enhanced our understanding of the continuity of key mineralized structures across the district, reinforcing the strategic importance of the Ima Project and the opportunities it may present as we continue to advance development plans,” said Ali Haji, President and CEO of the Company. “American Tungsten remains focused on advancing the Ima Project toward an updated Mineral Resource Estimate in the near term, providing the foundation for a Preliminary Economic Assessment to follow shortly thereafter.” The current drill program is designed to expand known mineralized structures along strike and at depth, with a particular focus on underexplored areas that exhibit strong geological continuity. The Company’s work to date has successfully advanced its objective of growing the resource base while further demonstrating the district-scale potential of the Ima Project. Results from six additional drill holes confirm that tungsten-silver mineralization in the No. 5 and No. 7 veins continues across more than 900 feet of strike length. In addition, drilling intersected multiple stacked footwall veins and extended the main Ima vein system over 800 vertical feet down dip.
Western Star Resources just announced the release of its newly updated investor presentation, providing shareholders and prospective investors with a comprehensive overview of the Company’s rapidly advancing North American critical-minerals portfolio and its strategy to build a significant U.S.-focused tungsten exploration platform. The updated presentation brings together, for the first time in a single corporate document, the historical production record, modern exploration results, geophysical interpretation, surface sampling, emerging drill targets and planned advancement strategy across Western Star’s Eagle Point, Rowland and White Star tungsten projects in the United States, together with the Company’s drill-permitted polymetallic Western Star Project in British Columbia. Western Star believes the updated presentation demonstrates the significant transformation undertaken by the Company over the past year — from acquiring historically productive mineral assets to actively generating modern exploration data and advancing priority targets toward drill testing. The Company’s U.S. tungsten strategy is now centred around three past-producing projects in two established U.S. mining jurisdictions, each offering a different stage of exploration opportunity and together providing Western Star with a growing pipeline of potential drill targets.

Adamera Minerals Corp. established the Washington Tungsten Hub, consolidating four scheelite-bearing tungsten properties across northeastern Washington, to advance domestic U.S. tungsten supply. The Hub is being established ahead of a January 1, 2027 federal procurement deadline that will bar tungsten from China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea from certain U.S. defense applications at a time when the United States has no operating domestic tungsten mine. Key Highlights: Strategic Domestic Positioning: A structural global tungsten supply shortage and an approaching U.S. defense procurement deadline have fundamentally reset the value of domestic brownfield tungsten assets. Adamera's Washington Tungsten Hub is positioned to respond. Formation of the Washington Tungsten Hub: Four properties with known tungsten mineralization, consolidated under single ownership for the first time, creating district-scale exploration and development potential. Pathway to Near-Term Production: Underground rehabilitation at Talisman and Tungsten Ridge provides direct access to known mineralization, while surface exploration creates the opportunity to expand it.
