Constellation Software’s 2022 Net Income Rose 65%

Canada’s Constellation Software (CSU) has reported 2022 net income of $512 million, which is up 65% from $310 million a year earlier.

The Toronto-based company that specializes in acquiring vertical market software companies also reported that its revenue for all of last year totaled $6.62 billion, up 30% from $5.10 billion in 2021.

Earnings per share (EPS) for 2022 came in at $24.18, an increase of 65% from $14.65 in the previous year.

The company’s free cash flow stood at $853 million as of December 31, 2022, a decrease of 3% from $883 million in the same period of 2021.

Constellation Software’s full year results come on the heels of a strong fourth-quarter 2022 print, in which the company’s revenue rose an annualized 34% and its net income increased 23%.

Led by notoriously private president Mark Leonard, Constellation Software has not held an earnings call with analysts or the media since 2017.

The company did announce in its latest earnings statement that its board of directors has approved a $1 per share dividend payable to stockholders on April 14 of this year.

The $1 distribution represents a 25% cut to the dividend, which previously stood at $1.34 per share.

Constellation Software’s stock has increased 14% in the last 12 months and currently trades at $2,432.55 per share.
