Verisk Vaults on Releasing Q2 Results

Verisk (NASDAQ: VRSK) shares reached skyward Wednesday. The company, a leading strategic data analytics and technology provider to the global insurance industry, today announced results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2026.

Net income was $229 million, a decrease of 9.8% in the quarter. The decrease in net income was mainly driven by increases in our effective tax rate, net interest expense, and legal fees incurred in connection with ongoing litigation.

Said CEO Lee Shavel, "Our solid second-quarter financial performance reflects the durability of Verisk’s economic model and the operational discipline with which we are managing the business.

“Our strong underlying subscription revenues are a demonstration of the essential role we play in helping insurance industry participants make better decisions across underwriting and claims and the deep client relationships and connection we have within the industry. We continue to invest in our proprietary datasets, and deploy advanced AI technologies across these unmatched data assets, in order to deliver innovative and distinctive insights that deepen client value and support future growth.

On June 30, Verisk paid a cash dividend of 50 cents per share on common stock issued and outstanding to the holders of record as of June 15.

Also, in the second quarter, Verisk entered into a $200.0-million accelerated share repurchase program and received an initial delivery of 949,190 shares of its common stock at an initial price of $179.10, representing approximately 85 percent of the aggregate purchase price.

VRSK shares began Wednesday jumped $4.53, or 9.6%, to $221.87.
