More signs out of a London-Ont., based think-tank indicate that Canada's economy continues to grow.
The Ivey Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) by the end of September 2012 stood at 60.4. The corresponding Ivey PMI figure for August 2012 was 62.5, for September 2011 was 55.7 and for September 2010 was 69.2.
The Ivey Employment Index for September 2012 was 55.4, the Inventories Index was 54.9, the Supplier Deliveries Index was 49.0 and the Prices Index was 60.6.
The Ivey PMI is an economic index which measures the month-to-month variation in economic activity as indicated by a panel of purchasing managers from across Canada, and is prepared by the Richard Ivey School of Business. Using end-of-the-month data it covers all sections of Canada's economy. Any reading above 50 indicates an increase from the month before.
