The value of Canadian building permits rose by 1.1% in April from the previous month to $6 billion, following a revised 3.2% decline in March, Statistics Canada reported on Thursday.
The agency goes on to say that residential construction intentions climbed 2% led by single-family dwellings, while the non-residential sector slid by 0.4% as lower commercial building plans offset gains in the institutional and industrial components.
