Canada's economy blew away expectations of a small uptick in jobs in September, adding 67,000 jobs.
Figures released Friday by Statistics Canada reported that despite the job surge, the unemployment rate stayed steady at 7% as more people were looking for work, too.
Most of the new jobs were part time, the agency said. And new jobs didn't come evenly across the country — most of them came from Quebec, Alberta and New Brunswick. There was little change in the other provinces.
