Shares in Asia-Pacific declined on Friday, as investors in the region reacted to the Thursday release of a hotter-than-expected U.S. consumer inflation report that pushed the 10-year Treasury yield past 2%.
Japanese markets were closed for holiday.
The Japanese yen traded at 116.05 per U.S. dollar, weaker than levels below 115.8 seen against the greenback yesterday
In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng Index lost 17.69 points, or 0.1%, to 24,906.66.
In Korea, shares of game developer Krafton plunging 12.8% after it announced Thursday a 84.9% year-on-year drop in its net profit for the fourth quarter.
The Australian dollar was at $0.7124 after recently falling from above $0.72.

In Shanghai, the CSI 300 retreated 38.47 points, or 0.8%, to 4,601.39
In Singapore, the Straits Times index inched up 0.95 points to 3,428.95
In Korea, the Kospi index slid 24.22 points, or 0.9%, to 2,747.71.
In Taiwan, the Taiex index lost 27.11 points, or 0.2%, to 18,310.94
In New Zealand, the NZX 50 dumped 239.27 points, or 1.9%, to 12,173.78.
In Australia, the ASX 200 flopped 71.18 points, or 1%, to 7,217.27.
