Asia-Pacific stocks fell on Tuesday, with mainland Chinese stocks leading losses regionally, the Russia-Ukraine war continued weighing on investor sentiment.
In Japan, the Nikkei 225 caved 430.46 points,, or 1.7%, to 24,790.95, its lowest close since November 2020.
The Japanese yen traded at 115.40 per U.S. dollar, following yesterday’s weakening from below 115 against the greenback.
Shares of Japan Airlines slipped 5.8% while Korean Air Lines in South Korea fell 1.6%.
In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng index tumbled 291.76 points, or 1.4%, to 20,765.87.
Over in Southeast Asia, shares of Singapore Airlines slipped 2.2% in afternoon trade. Hong Kong-listed shares of China Eastern Airlines also shed 4.2% and Cathay Pacific dropped 3.1%, as of their final hour of trading.
The Australian dollar was at $0.7274 after recently declining from above $0.736, shedding some of its gains from last week.

In Shanghai, the CSI 300 faded 87.39 points, or 2%, to 4,265.39.
In Singapore, the Straits Times Index dropped 38.96 points, or 1.2%, to 3,148.85.
In Korea, the Kospi index gave back 28.91 points, or 1.1%, to 2,622.40.
The Taiex index in Taiwan stumbled 353.44 points, or 2.1%, to 16,825.55.
In New Zealand, the NZX 50 hesitated 168.32 points, or 1.4%, to 11,744.95.
In Australia, the ASX 200 dipped 58.26 points, or 0.8%, to 6,980.33.
