Asian stocks traded mixed ahead of key inflation reports this week, including the U.S. consumer price index report due Wednesday and the producer price index on Thursday.
In Japan, the Nikkei 225 fell 0.61% to close at 32,189.73, extending its losing streak to five days while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index rebounded and climbed 0.58%.
The Shanghai Composite gained 0.22%, closing at 3,203.7. Chinese consumer price figures fell in June, making them nearly unchanged from a year earlier, while producer prices fell deeper into negative territory.

Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 fell 0.54% to 7,004.
