In China, the Shanghai Composite Index dipped 1.4% to 2,887.54.

South Korea's KOSPI Composite Index declined 0.4% to 2,567.82
The S&P/ASX 200 Benchmark Index of Australian stocks declined 0.5% to 7,451.50.
